Stayed here for two nights while visiting Northwestern for a speaking engagement. Hotel was ideally located, a good value, and appealing in a quirky way. Staff was extremely helpful/friendly.
The continental breakfast is mediocre.

The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The history of the building was really interesting and the building itself was very cool. I definitely would prefer this over a similarly-priced boring, corporate hotel chain.
The shared bathroom was not my favorite; there are stalls for the showers, stalls for the sinks and stalls for the toilets. They do give you a bathrobe for walking there.

I loved this place! I want to come back. It is a unique property - VERY clean and comfortable. It is special and not a cookie-cutter mundane chain motel. It is a 1920's historical women's club now welcoming hotel guests. It has all the historical charm - NOT gutted and remodeled - so it may not be everyone's choice. I really liked the distinction and the VERY friendly staff.
I liked it completely and I like an unusual and special experience off the beaten track.

The Manager of the Inn was extremely helpful in providing us with information about how to get to various places and which transportation to take. She also took the time to print reservation sheets for us since we had no printer. The staff were all exceptionally courteous and obliging during our stay.

The Margarita European Inn is a charming surprise in Evanston, a suburb of Chicago. This hotel reminded us of Hotel du Quai Voltaire, a hotel in Paris. The parlor and rooftop patio are among the best features of the hotel. There is a nice breeze that goes through the parlor from the french doors. We stayed in a small room with a king sized bed and a shared bathroom. The bedspread wasn't my favorite, but the air conditioning was refreshing on several hot days in August. The hotel is in a safe neighborhood in Evanston, parking is offered behind the building for an additional $8/night. We parked our car and used cta while we were there. The Davis station is a short walk away, it is $4.50/pp round trip to Chicago. Thank you for a nice stay. We hope to be back!
The mattress and bedspread were wanting. The wifi was terrible--the connection dropped quickly and frequently. The clerk that checked us in was disagreeable--at first I was annoyed but soon after went back to ask a question and saw her crying. Encounters with three other hotel employees were very positive.

The setting is exceptionally nice and unbeatable, so close to the old restaurant, park in a parking lot, and Evanston or Chicago, very relaxing area. There's Noodles & Company offering takeout a 10-15 minute walk from the venue.

The heating is too much, hard to control, very uncomfortable, waste energy, the hotel is hard to find.
